Hey Mike, that's a good question and the answer 100 percent is yes, go with a tankless water heater while off-grid camping. They use less energy and work faster so the only water and energy you use is exactly what is needed. All you need to do is find the best door size for your camper, though you'll have to make some adjustments/trimming with the cut out in order to replace your Atwood water heater there's honestly just no way around that because water heater door sizes are not universal.... view full answer...
The wall controller is required to use the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR93FR. You will need to install it if you plan to use this water heater. view full answer...
Hey Michael, yes you can replace the water heater in your 2000 Skyline with a tankless heater like the Furrion part # FR68SR which will give you on demand hot water like you are looking for. My parents installed this in their RV and they really liked it. The age of your RV would not affect the install or fit of this either. view full answer...
Hey Maureen, you'll want to cover water heater vent with a bug screen for sure, but that depends on your specific water heater. For example if you have a flush mounted Suburban 6-gallon water heater vent use the Valterra Bug Screen for Suburban 6-Gallon RV Water Heater Vents - Flush Mount # A10-1323VP.
I have added a link below to our entire selection of water heater vent bug screens. view full answer...
Hi Cynthia,
Thank you very much for your purchase directly from etrailer of the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR. I googled the manual for the heater and its said an E5 error meant the power supply voltage was too low, which makes sense considering the power to your RV went out. So it wasn't an issue with the heater, it was that the power went out and that's why you got that error.
The manual says to press the on/off switch to restart, and wait for 15 minutes to reset. It then... view full answer...
Atwood water heaters have been discontinued for quite some time as Atwood is no longer in business. Even standard water heaters are getting rarer as most people switch to tankless. That's what I highly recommend checking out to save energy and get instant hot water, and you can replace the Atwood with the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR68SR. view full answer...
Yes, the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR68SR is able to replace the Suburban water heater on your 2019 Grand Design Momentum 351 M-Class. This will supply you with endless hot water. The only thing to consider would be the door size since you don't want gaps in the exterior from the old hot water heater. Since this comes with an 18" x 18" door that will not be a problem. view full answer...
The best water heater replacement for your Atwood GC10A-4E is the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR because the tankless feature means you have quicker and prolonged access to hot water, whereas your current heater is limited to the size of the tank.
Tankless heaters are still fairly new so I'm attaching a review video for you to reference. view full answer...
Thank you for all of the pictures and information!
The Atwood line of water heaters went out of business a number of years ago so to replace your water heater I highly recommend the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR48SR because it has superior performance to the older tank-style heaters and is more efficient as well.
Please note that the installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or gas supplier. view full answer...
Hello David, I can definitely point you in the right direction. I will first need a bit more info from you in order to recommend the correct anode rod for your Suburban water heater. Specifically, the model number or manufacturer part number of your water heater.
For example, if you had the Suburban SW6DEL water heater, the correct anode rod would be the Camco RV Water Heater Anode Rod # CAM11563 which is aluminum, is 3/4" in diameter and measures 9-1/2" long. Feel free to post your model... view full answer...
When you winterize your trailer you should be draining the tanks before you bypass the water heater so there wouldn't really be any pressure to damage the # 37262255. Regardless, it should hold up to any pressure in the water line. view full answer...
Hi Michael,
To replace your Suburban SW6 DE water heater you'll want the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR. This tankless water heater is one of the most efficient units on the market, producing up 144 gallons of hot water per hour. The dimensions I'm seeing for your Suburban show it being roughly 12-3/4" tall by 12-3/4" wide so the # FR98SR with its 16" x 16" door would be a great fit.
During the installation you're going to want to use some butyl tape # AL28FJ on the back... view full answer...
Hey Mike, so if you wanted to stick with a regular tanked water heater for your RV we do have the Dometic part # DMC74FR which is a 6 gallon water heater basically the same as what you have now. view full answer...
Hey Cody,
Direct replacements for the older Atwood water heaters are pretty much non-existent nowadays because they were discontinued.
Because of this I recommend replacing your G6A-7 with the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR which is more efficient and offers better performance than the older tank-style heaters.
Attached is a review video for you to check out! view full answer...
Hi Carl; Atwood (which made your water heater) is no longer in business and replacement tanks are not made for them, so the best we can offer is replacing your heater with a new one, the tankless Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR48SR.
These give you on-demand hot water and are far more energy efficient than heaters with tanks. I know it's not what you asked for but I thought I'd give you the option since a replacement Atwood tank isn't something made anymore. view full answer...
Hello Robin. Yes, it is possible to install a tankless water heater in a 1995 model mobile home or trailer provided you have 12v power and gas hookups. The main thing to consider is that the tankless units are usually smaller than the tanked models. Depending on your setup you may have to modify the cutout space for your water heater to allow for a proper fit.
I suggest you take a look at the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR68SR. This is our best selling tankless unit and they work... view full answer...
In order to determine the cause of the problem with the Atwood Water Heater GC6A-7E you will need to have a technician look over the unit and preform the proper diagnostic tests. Hey Bruce, I recommend going with the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR48SR to replace your Atwood G6A6 water heater. This water heater has a 60,000 btu rating which is quite the step up from what you have currently, is a tankless unit so it'll provide hot water on demand (whenever you need it), and will produce up to 144 gallons of hot water per hour.
You're also going to want to get some butyl tape # AL28FJ for the unit and access door mounting flanges, as well as some sealant #... view full answer...
